Overview
Dental implants are long-term replacements for missing permanent teeth.
The implant itself is a threaded titanium cylinder that replaces the root structure of a permanent tooth.
Unlike traditional dentures which rest on the gum line,
or fixed bridges which damage adjacent teeth, dental implants act as anchors
surgically placed in the jawbone to replace missing teeth. Dental implants
can be placed in patients of almost all ages (growing children being the exception), and can be utilized to replace
teeth missing due to accident, disease, or decay. They are especially
practical for patients who can no longer wear removable dentures. If you
are interested in a long-term solution to replace missing teeth, our surgeons
can recommend a treatment plan appropriate to your unique dental condition.
